Windows Phone users have been hanging on every bit of rumour and speculation as to when Microsoft would release Windows Phone 7.5 [dubbed Mango]. Rumours pointed to the 15th of September, were unceremoniously quashed by Joe Belfiore himself. Reminding us all of the date Microsoft had mentioned earlier. Less a date, more a season, fall [...]

Friday 9 September 2011 @ 8:00 am
As strange as it seemed when an Antivirus app for Windows Phone appeared on the market, most  people saw it as an act of forethought by AVG, pre empting any attack that may come in the future. Malware for smartphones, while not a major threat, it has made the news, especially related to Android devices, [...]

Confirmed: Microsoft has ditched GeoTrust Verification for Individuals and DreamSpark Students!

Monday 25 July 2011 @ 5:56 am
Yesterday I got a bit of a bee in my bonnet, about some information posted about changes to the Windows Phone developer registration/certification process. The lack of solid information from Microsoft, an announcement, press release etc, detailing the changes seemed strange to me. as well as the variation in the results when following the link [...]

Has Microsoft Ditched GeoTrust for Windows Phone Developer Verification?

Sunday 24 July 2011 @ 10:06 am
I’m a bit befuddled by a post that I read today, that asserted as part of the recent App Hub update, bringing many new features for Windows Phone Developers, that the registration/verification process had been relaxed for individuals and students. While this may be an interpretation issue, as with the app hub refresh, Microsoft have [...]

Thursday 16 June 2011 @ 7:57 am
Further to my post yesterday, more information is coming to light about the rumoured release of Windows Phone developer handsets, with the hardware to support all the new features in the Mango update for Windows Phone. Seems you will have to be a serious developer, and actually have applications published to the market. Obviously, Microsoft [...]

Monday 16 May 2011 @ 6:10 am
The guys at Windows Phone Dev Podcast have done it again, and appropriately they have titled it “More Mango Madness”. The almost insane fascination of early adopters of WP7, with what is seen to be the most significant update to the OS, we will see, hopefully this year, that fascination hasn’t been dulled. SO what [...]

Thursday 5 May 2011 @ 6:40 am
Yesterday, I was greeted by the Update Notification for for the 7.0.7392 update for my non carrier branded HTC HD7, which of course updated normally. I then for the sake of it, tried the update process on my HTC Mozart 7, which, in what has now become part of the Windows Phone 7 world’s permanent [...]

Microsoft has yet to release their first update to WP7, but that hasn’t stopped them from taking out their calendar and marking down then the second software update will be available.  If you have your calendar handy, you might want to take out a red market and circle February 14-17.  If those dates sound familiar, [...]

Monday 11 October 2010 @ 8:24 am

Microsoft’s big Windows phone 7 announcements is right around the corner, but that didn’t Steve Ballmer from making a quick appearance on the Today Show this morning. During the short interview, Ballmer talked up the “delightful” and intuitive new UI on the Windows Phone and quickly showed off some of the various form factors that manufacturers are going to be unveiling shortly. Among the three phones featured, the HTC Mondrian was shown off a music/media device with its unique slide-out speaker. We’ve only got a few short minutes until Microsoft kicks of their press conference, so we’re hoping we’ll have a lot more news coming today.
