HTC posts spec for the T-Mobile G2

Tuesday 14 September 2010 @ 8:54 pm

With less than 12 hours until HTC’s press event in London, the T-Mobile G2 has appeared on HTC’s site. Most of the details on the G2′s specs have been leaked already, but it’s nice to finally see them revealed by HTC. The G2 will feature Qualcomms 800 MHz MSM 7230 processor and a 3.7 inch WVGA display. When we heard that the G2 would only feature a 1300 mAh batter we were a bit disappointed. However, HTC is claiming that the batter should last for 430 hours (just shy of 18 days), which is the best we have seen from HTC in quite some time. We’re pretty sure that the new Qualcomm chip-set has a lot to do with it.

Leaked T-Mobile G2 ROM unveils a few new HTC wallpapers

Friday 27 August 2010 @ 9:48 pm

Interested in giving your Android phone a fresh new look? It’s not every day that we share new wallpapers with you guys, but what we have here are no ordinary wallpapers. After the the T-Mobile G2′s ROM got leaked the other day, @zapote21 did some digging around through the system files and came up with with six new wallpapers from HTC. The G2′s ROM did include other images, though @zapore21 has stated that the other images are simply what we have seen before on other HTC Sense handsets.

We’re hoping that a few new wallpapers will be enough to hold everyone over a few more weeks as we wait patiently for the launch of the T-Mobile G2. If the phone does feature the Snapdragon MSM7230 processor with the Adreno 205 GPU, it should be one of the best Android phones to hit the streets this fall.

T-Mobile G2 test Android build gets leaked

Wednesday 25 August 2010 @ 2:12 pm

You know it’s going to be a fun day when a file named “PC10IMG_Vision_TMOUS_1.12.531.0_ Radio_12.18.60.05P_26.01.00.17_M2_test_144460.zip” shows up on the web.  Our good friends over at AndroidGuys spotted a new post on 911sniper which was titled “Test rom for HTC Vision / T-Mobile G2 (Android-Froyo 2.2)” and simply couldn’t pass up taking a peak.

The zip file contained .img files and an excel document with details about the test build.   The spreadsheet verifies that the build belongs to the upcoming T-Mobile G2 and that it features support for T-Mobile HSPA+ network.  The file also references PC10100, the name of the handset that hit the FCC’s website yesterday.  We still have about a month before the T-Mobile G2 will hit the streets, but when new information gets leaked on a regular basis, time simply flies on by.

T-Mobile G2 passes through the FCC as the HTC PC10100

Tuesday 24 August 2010 @ 3:44 pm

Looking for a little more evidence that the HTC Vision (aka T-Mobile G2) will be hitting store shelves within the next month or so? Some new FCC filings have just hit the web for a mysterious HTC PC10100.  The HTC PC10100 name is new to us, but looking at all the other data, we’re pretty confident that the phone is actually the G2.  The handset features support for AWS 3G, 802.11n WiFi, and the within the documentation there are multiple references to HSPA+ capabilities.

The T-Mobile G2 isn’t expected to launch until late September,  but with FCC certification tucked away, HTC is one step closer to launching the true successor to the original Android phone.
