This morning, HTC announced that they expect revenue for the second quarter of 2012 to increase by 55 percent over the first quarter of this year. HTC expects second quarter revenues to reach T$105 billion ($3.56 billion), beating analysts’ expectations by 3.5 percent. HTC isn’t giving any reason as to why they expect such a [...]

HTC admits to mistakes with LTE devices as Q1 revenue projections get a downward revision

We’ve seen the recent slide in HTC’s profits and the company’s CFO, Winston Yung, believes he knows why sales numbers have not been meeting expectations.  Yung admitted in today’s earnings call that HTC “dropped the ball” when it comes to its lineup of LTE devices.  He continued to note that the LTE devices failed on [...]

HTC profits jump 33% in Q2

Tuesday 6 July 2010 @ 8:10 am

Samsung and Motorola may be HTC’s spot in global smartphone sale, but that doesn’t mean HTC will simply roll over and let the competition take over.  HTC has just revealed their quarterly profits of $268 million on $1.88 billion in sales.  Those numbers come in at 33 percent higher than the sale numbers reported for Q2 of last year.  But the most astonishing figure might be that HTC has posted two record setting quarters in a row with Q2 outdoing Q1 by $280 million.  HTC has not released any figures on how many devices they sold in the second quarter, but we can assume that the lion’s share of their increased revenue and profits is coming from Android rather than Windows Mobile.

With Windows Phone7 set to debut within the next few months, we are confident that HTC will continue to post some great numbers and deliver some amazing devices.  For now, I guess we can just sit back and enjoy our Android phones and dream of mind-blowing phones HTC is working on with their big mountain of cash.
