myTouch HD documents confirm front facing camera and 1GHz “dual processor”

Monday 13 September 2010 @ 10:25 am

T-Mobile customers not completely sold on the upcoming T-Mobile G2 might want to take a close look at some new details on the myTouch HD.  We’ve known for a while that the myTouch HD would be one of the most exciting Android phones this fall, but detailed specs have been missing until now.  Those hoping that this phone would feature a massive 4.3 inch screen will be a little disappointed, but the mTHD will have a 3.8 inch Super TFT LCD screen.  The phone will also feature Android 2.2, 4GB of internal memory, 5MP camera with LED flash, front facing VGA camera for video calling/chat, a 1GHz “dual processor” (whatever that is), and support for HSPA+ so you can jump on “America’s largest 4G network.”

The T-Mobile myTouch HD will certainly be one of the best Android phones on T-Mobile when it launches, though we still have a few reservations about it.  Since the phone is sporting the myTouch name, we’re expecting it will be loaded up with the Espresso UI variant of HTC Sense.  We’re also not sure what “dual processor” is trying to imply.  It would be nice if this phone did feature a dual-core 1GHz processor, but this clearly contradicts Qualcomm’s statement from last week.
